Archeological Cultural Sites

Bill Barrett Corporation has already spent $2 million to protect artifacts through a cultural resource inventory and by re-aligning and providing dust suppression efforts along Nine Mile Canyon road.

Bill Barrett Corporation’s commitment to no net impacts to archaeological cultural sites and artifacts in the West Tavaputs area includes:  

• Funding a cultural survey prior to any construction and re-locating development if cultural sites are found
• Committing to a “stop-work” requirement if cultural artifacts are encountered during earth work activities
• Committing to fund further tourist experience enhancements and protection projects for cultural sites in the West Tavaputs area
